Bald Eagle Cools Off

bald eagle bird birdwatching photography

A bald eagle perched on a branch, looking to the viewer's left, its wings held out to its sides and its beak open, showing its tongue.

This bald eagle is in the classic pose of an overheated bird. Plumage is a great insulator, but in hot weather it works against you.

Technically speaking, not a perfect photo, but nice for its “documentary” value.
