Comment on “Setting the Scene”

I noticed the absence in these in the portion of How to Run that I have finished, and I'm glad you wrote this post.

I will attempt to generalize the portion of the advice given here that deals with NPC actions and portrayals. Please tell me if I am off the mark.

"Once you know what has happened to the NPCs, consider how they would feel and act if the player party was in no way present. Think about their emotions and their resources, and most importantly think about them as real people, not robots with a script. Then have them be going about their business in these ways when the party becomes involved."
